Janet Loh

I work in the creative field of marketing and communications. I can’t get enough of this at work, and in my leisure time, I paint and create ceramics pieces. Nothing makes me happier than pottering around in the various studios!

Painting

I have a voracious appetite; I want to learn different media and styles. I started my journey a few years back, first dipping my toes into water colour, and then went on to oil. And stayed with the latter. It’s only this year, 2021, that I ventured into charcoal and pastel drawing, and folk art (eg, rosemaling). I am sure I will continue to dip my toes into more possibilities as I progress.

My favourite subject is people of different cultures, inspired by my extensive travels to Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar and parts of Europe.

Ceramics

I love to play with texture, carving, mixed clay, and especially dami painting. What better way to combine both painting and pottery, than ceramics painting, which I’d only recently taken up!
